From an incredible 750 nominations this year, the 10th annual Touchdown for Teachers winners have been announced including the grand-prize winner - a physical education teacher from Rochester.  Congratulations to Brianne Blaszak from Villa of Hope who won $2000 in grant funds for her school and a visit from a Buffalo Bills player.

Since the program began, the Buffalo Bills and M & T Bank have recognized 41 area educators and treated them to memorable game-day experience and awarded their schools a combined $21,400 in grant money.

Brianne's nomination stated; "she breaks barriers for participation in physical education for students with learning disabilities through technology and community partnerships.  She also implemented an annual "Hoops for Hearts" fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association.  And within the community she supports Footsteps of Western New York, which works to assist local children and adults suffering from cerebral palsy, as well as helping to coordinate a 5K for the Wyoming County Girl Scouts."

In addition the Bills and M & T Bank selected four other finalists who each receive $500 in grant funds for their school or districts.  Congratulations to:

  • Daniel Travis of East High School in Rochester
  • Lisa Brosnick of North Collins Junior/Senior High School
  • Lori Mancuso of West Seneca Middle School
  • Mary Howard of Veronica Howard Middle School on Grand Island

All of the winners and their guest were awarded their prizes during a celebration at the ADPRO Sports Training Center at New Era Field.
