The Horse Pull is one of the longest running traditions at The Erie County Fair and Monday's competition was excellent!

I have had the pleasure of being the announcer for both the lightweight and heavy horse events for over a decade. But getting to watch Isaiah Jefferds pull his team of King and Tony (a beautiful pair of Belgians) will always rank at the top of the list of memories.

At 16 years old, the Scio,NY native has been driving draft horses for years and only recently got his learners permit to drive a vehicle!

Congratulations to Bobby Howard from Acme, PA. He and his team (Sony and Rex) won Monday's pull as the only team to completely pull the 4000 pound weight the full distance of 27.5 feet.

The action continues Tuesday at noon when the heavy (unlimited weight) teams pull at The Gusto Grandstand. Admission is free.
