Two young boys were killed by a python that escaped its enclosure at a pet store in Canada yesterday.

The brothers, who were 5 and 7, were sleeping in a friend's apartment above the pet store when the snake strangled them to death. Police arrived at the apartment in New Brunswick and found the two boys, but it was too late. The friend of the brothers was sleeping in another room and was unharmed.

The snake was believed to have found its way upstairs through the vents and found the boys sleeping in the room.

The snake is still alive but in police's hands.
