| July 31st - Marla Rappold Benefit Friends of Marla Rappold invite you to a benefit to help with her mounting medical bills as she battles long-term physical problems. It’s Saturday, July 31st from noon to 5 at Townline Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Admission is 12 dollars including one hot dog and pop or 15 dollars with two hot dogs and pop. There’s a basket raffle plus an autographed Patrick Kane jersey you can bid on. All money raised will help Marla pay for her medical bills and support her teenage son. |

| August 1st - Food Bank of WNY’s Walk Off Hunger
Support the Food Bank of Western New York by participating in the third annual Walk Off Hunger on Sunday, August 1st. The family friendly walk begins and ends at Temple Beth AM, 4660 Sheridan Drive in Amherst. Registration is $15 and is available on-line at CLICK HERE or starting at 10:30a day of the walk, with the walk scheduled to start at 11:30.
Registered walkers will receive a t-shirt, hot dog and water. A community-wide festival will be held on the Temple grounds that day beginning at noon. The festival is open to the public.
The Food Bank of Western New York distributes more than 1 million pounds of food each month to nearly 100,000 residents in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. 39 percent of whom they serve are children.

| August 7th - Ransomville Summer Raffle Ransomville Fire Company’s 4th annual summer raffle is Saturday, August 7th at the fire company grounds at 2541 Youngstown Lockport Road in Ransomville. It all starts at 4pm.l It includes a Chinese Auction, Chicken BBQ, other food & refreshments, beer & wine tent, children’s activities (bounce house, inflatable slide, live animal program, horse & carriage rides and the band Ransomville at 8pm. |

| August 8th - Drums Along The Waterfrontwill once again fill the skies over Western New York with thundering drum beats and beautiful brass rhythms on Sunday, August 8th at 5:30 p.m. at Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park.
This year’s show has the makings of being the best DATW in its history and is being billed by many within the drum corps international community as one of the best drum corps competitions in North America this year. In addition, for the first time the internationally renowned US Marine Drum and Bugle Corp will travel to WNY and make a special appearance in this year’s event.
A tribute to area veterans and service members will coincide with the performance.
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased at the Ralph Wilson Stadium Box Office or at any Ticketmaster.com location. If purchased in advance, ticket price is $22.00 for adults, $10.00 for children 12 and under, and $20.00 for students, military veterans and those 65 and older. Tickets are $25.00 for adults when purchased the day of the event. Discounts for large groups are available. Parking is free. | August 14th - Dice Run to Benefit Pine Valley Youth Football The second annual motorcycle dice run to benefit the Pine Valley Longhorns youth football program is Saturday, August 14th. Pine Valley Longhorns players are boys and girls from 8 to 13 years old. Registration is from 10 to 11 am at the South Dayton Hotel on Pine Street. The ride leaves at 11. It’s 30 dollars a rider, 20 dollars a passenger including a chicken barbeque, a t-shirt and live music with 3 bands at Willow Creek Winery. |

| August 13th-15th - 73rd Annual Annunciation-Elma PicnicThe 73rd annual Annunciation-Elma Picnic, Friday August 13th through Sunday August 15th on the grounds at 7580 Clinton Street in Elma N.Y. Come hang out Friday for the Car Show and music by Island Doom. Saturday there will be a Pork Chop Dinner at 4pm and music by Hit'n Run during the evening. On Sunday there will be a Polka Mass at 11:30, along with a Chicken Dinner at noon, and music by Polka Country Musicians and Soul Providers. Aiden Radlich suffers from a rare brain condition and as a result suffers from epilepsy and seizures and the family is planning for brain surgery. There’s a benefit on Saturday, August 21st from 4 to 10 at Demarco Grove on California Road in Orchard Park. Beer, pop and food included in your cover charge. You can bid on a number of great auction items. Tickets are 20 dollars. |

It’s Open Mic In The Park – Saturday, September, 4th. Bring your guitars if you have ‘em or just come for the music and give it a try yourself. Plus food and games for the kids. It’s at Evans Town Park from noon to 10 PM. A portion of the proceeds benefit Ewings Sarcoma Cancer Research.

| September 11th - Doyle Hose Fundraiser The annual Doyle Hose fire company sportsmans fundraiser is Saturday, September 11th at Fontana’s grove. Doyle Hose and other area volunteer fire companies depend on events like this to benefit the fire company’s youth programs including junior firefighter explorer post, their annual halloween party, little league sponsorships, fire prevention training and others. They’ll have plenty of great items to auction off – entertainment, dining, sports, home and garden and travel items on Saturday, Sseptember 11th at Fontana’s grove. |

| September 18th - Wings Flights of Hope BBQWings Flights of Hope provides free flights for medical patients and our troops. Wings will fly anywhere and at any time. Everyone involved is a volunteer and they volunteer their services and their airplanes. | September 18th - Out of the Darkness Community Walk Join Brett Alan in a walk to prevent suicide. This year, 1-million Americans will make a suicide attempt and more than 34-thousand people will die by suicide. Support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Western New York Chapter by participating in the Buffalo Out of the Darkness Community Walk on Saturday, September 18th at Delaware Park and help raise money for local and national suicide prevention and awareness programs.
