It has to be one of the most recognized songs in all of music. Certainly in country music. It has been covered by artists from just about every genre, including by the Muppets!

True, the sound of country music has come a long long way since the days of ol' Hank. And truthfully, the song sounds dated, and many of the new generation of country fans will tell you that this is exactly the type of song they don't like. It is too "twangy" for them.
