It was a big night for Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks last night. Both artists were inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame!It's an honor that is long overdue for both entertainers. Here is a picture that Alan's daughter Ali posted on Twitter last night before the event took place.

The event took place in Nashville and as Garth Brooks said, this is one honor that is above all the rest:

"So to be considered a songwriter is a hell of a compliment in this town, and in all of music, so I feel like this is the big one,"

There were a few others inducted that are writer who are featured on songs on today's charts as well such as "The House That Built Me" and "Anything Like Me."

Taylor Swift won the songwriter/artist of the year award for the fourth time in five years for her songs  "Back To December" and "Mean."
