Sad news with word that actor and songwriter Alan Thicke has died at the age of 69.  He reportedly had a heart attack while playing hockey with one of his sons in Los Angeles.

Thicke may be best known as the head of the Seaver family on the ABC sitcom "Growing Pains" for seven seasons from 1985 to 1992.  More recently he appeared on "Fuller House" the sequel to the sitcom "Full House".

Alan Thicke also wrote a number of TV theme songs including the sitcoms "Diff'rent Strokes", "Hello Larry" and "The Facts of Life".

He's survived by his wife Tanya and his sons Brennan, Carter and singer Robin.
