American Idol Fans Can Vote For Favorites on Facebook

I watch American Idol but I’ve never actually voted for any contestant, not once.  I know tons of people do, but I wonder if it’s mostly people that live in the cities where the contestants are from.  Up until now voting has been exclusive to phone and texting.  American Idol has now announced that viewers will be able to cast their votes online through facebook, up to 50 votes too!  I doubt this move will change my non-voting ways but it certainly gives the voting fans more options.  The top 24 were picked last week and live shows are set to start.  I do think that it is a strong group this year, and I'm curious to see if the early standouts will be able to stay strong under the pressure of the "live" show.  I know it sounds mean but I always secretly hope for some sort of meltdown, it makes great television.
