It's only been about a month since Andy Rooney called it quits on '60 Minutes' but today we found out that he died yesterday at 92 years old.

Last week it was announced that he had suffered some complications from an undisclosed surgery that he had.  He never recovered from those complications.

According to Huffington Post, Rooney delivered 1,097 commentaries in his nearly 35 years with CBS.  His first commentary came on July 2, 1978 as a means to add a little punch to their weekly broadcast.  He said he would work until he died and he more or less did.

"Andy always said he wanted to work until the day he died, and he managed to do it, save the last few weeks in the hospital" -- Steve Kroft (One of Andy Rooney's colleagues)
