In my experience, a good way to get a real sense of a person is by how they treat animals.

Now, I understand that some people may not have pets because of allergies, or they just don't have the time for one. But I’m a pet owner and animal lover and have been all my life.  Having grown up on a farm, I was exposed to lots of cows, horses, cats, dogs and even chickens, so I learned at a young age that animals were a great gift.

I do what I can to help by donating to different animal rescue organizations.  I wish I had time to volunteer, but I don't, so I'll help by spreading the word that the Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue needs volunteers!

If you're interested you can attend a Volunteer/Foster Meeting tonight, April 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lewiston Public Library Community Room, 305 South 8th Street

The rescue is also in need of the following donated items: Purina Puppy Chow and Dog Chow, large and medium kennels/crates and blankets. Heart of Niagara’s complete “Wish List” of needed items is available on their website. If you would like to donate any of these items or if you are able to foster an animal, please call 716-345-7129.

Anyway you can do to help an animal in need is appreciated, I'm sure. Thanks for reading this.
