Sabres goaltender Anders Lindback made several outstanding saves including this sprawling save on Martin St. Louis [Youtube][/caption]It's a very tough thing for any sports fan to hope their team loses so that they get a better draft position.  But in this, the year of the tank, that's what it's come to for many fans of the Buffalo Sabres.  You can only hope the pain and agony of watching the guys in blue and gold lose game after game will all be worth it in the end.

Saturday night against the New York Rangers it was a Sabres roster of relative unknowns against the top team in the Eastern Conference and the Sabres held their own.  They gave a good effort, they generated some offensive chances, they held the Rangers scoreless thru two periods, but a screened shot 7 minutes into the third period got by Buffalo goaltender Anders Lindback and that's all the Rangers would need.  The Rangers scored into an empty net after the Sabres had pulled the goaltender and the Rangers skated off with a 2-0 victory handing the Sabres their 6th straight loss.

Lindback made 31 saves in his fifth start with the Sabres.

The Sabres remain home to host Washington on Monday night.
