It's official, we have had the wettest year so far and it's only May! If you have a wet backyard or if you live anywhere near Lake Ontario, it's probably not any surprise that the amount of rainfall we have had since the start of 2017 has been abnormal.

With 7 months left in the year, we will no doubt be adding to that record. The National Weather Service announced the Western new York area has gotten nearly 20 inches of rain since January 1st! The average is around 13.22 inches and the total as of May 16th is 19.62.

The previous record was set in 1886.

Things are shaping up (and drying out) around the area at least for the next few days.
