Our pets are part of the family and just like any family member, when there is an emergency, you want the most reliable and immediate care for them. There is great news for pet owners around Arcade,NY.Invisible Fence of Upstate New York has announced an incredibly generous donation to assist first-responders in Arcade.

That’s because Invisible Fence of the Upstate NY has donated two pet oxygen mask kits to the department.

That's correct! Just like when a human is in need of oxygen when an emergency arrives, cats, dogs (and other pets) can now receive the proper care.

This is an ongoing campaign by The Invisible Fence Company and a reported 170+ pets have been saved by the donated masks so far, one family dog most recently in Baltimore by the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Arcade, NY and surrounding areas are now joining the ranks of cities like Seattle, Chicago, Denver, and Salt Lake City who have all received donated pet oxygen masks from Project Breathe program.

My father-in-law was a police officer for years in the Southern Erie County Area and on one occasion had administered mouth to mouth resuscitation to rescue a young dog! Can you imagine? With these masks, in the future, Arcade first responders will now be able to grab the machine and help a family keep their beloved animals alive! Even birds may receive oxygen when in need!

Although the number of pets that die in fires is not an official statistic kept by the U.S. Fire Administration, industry web sites and sources have cited an estimated 40,000 to 150,000 pets die in fires each year, most succumbing to smoke inhalation. In most states, emergency responders are unequipped to deal with the crisis. The loss is terrible for the family, heart wrenching for firefighters.

The company has set up a website, www.invisiblefence.com/O2, where local fire personnel can make a request for their own departments.
