After multiple requests to exterminate bed bugs from Buffalo's Rath building, a new threat is being investigated.

According to WIVB-TV, an investigation is beginning after an Erie County employee asked the state department of labor to look into multiple cancer cases that have occurred on just a few floors of the county office building.

At this point, air quality tests that have been done in the building have uncovered no cancer causing toxins.

“We want to make sure our members are working in a safe environment. We want to make sure when they go to work, nothing is going to happen,”  - Michele Weaver, the union’s health and safety co-chair.
