Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Philadelphia Flyers Steamroll the Buffalo Sabres

Following the Buffalo Sabres crushing loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in their previous game the big question entering Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers was how would the Sabres respond?  Would they come with a new determination?  Or would they crash and burn?

Dale’s Visit to the South Buffalo Pizzafest

Pizza lovers take their pizza seriously here in Buffalo.  Some people don't even give it a second thought to call somebody else names if your choice of best pizza places isn't the same as yours. Nick Potozniak called me an idiot and moron because my choices didn't match his.

Buffalo Sabres Blow Another Third Period Lead In A Loss To Pittsburgh

There are some teams that get favorable officiating calls in the NHL and there are some that don't.  The Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the darlings of the league, the Sabres are not.  The Penguins got a huge assist from the NHL office in Toronto in allowing the tying goal late in the third period that was obviously a high stick.  Moments later the Penguins scored the winning goal to beat the Sabres 4-3.

Buffalo Sabres Fall to Tampa Bay in a Shoot Out

Having lost five of their last six games, as far as I'm concerned Buffalo Sabres fans should realistically hope their team loses as many games as possible thru the end of the season for a better draft choice.  The Sabres chances of making the playoffs this year are the smallest of small, so just pack it in and think ahead to next year.

Buffalo Sabres End 4-Game Losing Streak With Win Over Arizona

The Buffalo Sabres beat the Arizona Coyotes 6-3 Thursday night to end a four-game losing streak, but it wasn't easy.  The Sabres scored three goals in the 3rd period to win it.  Evander Kane scored his 23rd goal of the season to break a 3-3 tie and Marcus Foligno and Sam Reinhart scored empty netters.

No Deals For Buffalo Sabres at Trade Deadline

Wednesday's 3 pm NHL trading deadline came and went with the Buffalo Sabres standing pat.  They didn't acquire any players or draft picks and didn't trade an away.  With the way they're playing some people think it would have made sense for them to just give some players away but that didn't happen either.
