Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the Breakfast Club morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Today Is National Nothing Day

Anybody who’s ever worked in radio, TV or a newspaper is familiar with Chase’s Calendar of Events. It’s an annual publication, almost like a text book that goes through the various observances, holidays and events that happen on each date around the world. Every day there’s something going on in the world – some festival, some holiday, some celebration and you’ll likely find it listed in Chase’s.

Broadway Joe’s Finest Hour

To put it into perspective, ask any teenager. They don’t have any recollection of the Buffalo Bills in the NFL playoffs. I doubt any 18 or 19 year old would remember back to when they were a toddler when the Bills lost that famous game in Nashville on what became known as the “Music City Miracle”.

Buffalo Sabres Beat Washington Capitals In A Shootout

It was a rare road win for the Buffalo Sabres. Cody Hodgson returned to the lineup after missing the last eight games with a hand injury and scored the deciding goal in a shootout to give the Sabres a 2-1 win against the Washington Capitals.

Sabres Win In Shootout

All of sudden the Buffalo Sabres are hot.  They've won four straight games on home ice and have points in five of their last six games overall.  Ryan Miller has been an important reason why.  Sunday night at First Niagara Center Miller stopped a career high 49 of 50 shots and all six shots in a shootout to give the Sabres a 2-1 victory over the Washington Capitals.

Typical Loss For Bills At New England

Make it twelve straight losses for the Bills at New England’s Gillette Stadium.  As they usually do, the Bills fell to the Patriots to close the season with a 34-20 loss.

They were missing quarterback E J Manuel and Stevie Johnson for the game and Marcel Dareus for the first half after he was benched for the second week in a row for violating team rules.
