Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the Breakfast Club morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

For the second year in a row the Kansas City Chiefs come into Buffalo and beat the Bills by capitalizing on turnovers.  The Bills got another outstanding effort from their defense but for the third time in five home games come away a loser 17-13 to the Chiefs.

Buffalo Sabres Fall To Montreal In A Shootout

Give credit when it's due.  And I'll give credit to the Buffalo Sabres for another well-played game.  They played the Montreal Canadiens eye-ball to eye-ball for the entire game Wednesday night at First Niagara Center, but lost in a shoot-out 2-1.

Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag at Texas Motor Speedway but a it was marred by a brawl on pit road after the race.  Pit crew members prevented Jeff Gordon from confronting Brad Keselowski but Kevin Harvick was able to get to him and that set off a pushing and shoving match involving as many as 20 people until everybody could be separated.

Buffalo Sabres Rally To Win In Overtime

Give the Buffalo Sabres credit.  After a dismal game the night before against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Sabres somehow found a way to win a game against a team they hadn't beaten since 2009.  Zemgus Girgensons shootout goal was the difference as the Sabres beat the Detroit Red wings 3-2 at First Niagara Center in the first of a four-game homestand.

Better Effort By The Buffalo Sabres, But Still Lose

A much better effort than that no-show Tuesday night in Toronto, but it still wasn't good enough to give the Buffalo Sabres a victory.  The Sabres twice led the Boston Bruins on Thursday night at First Niagara Center, but the Bruins dominated the third period, scored the tying goal off a glove with five and a half minutes to play.  Then in overtime the Sabres couldn't get out of their own end and the Bruins finally ended it when Brad Marchand was left alone in front to win it 3-2.
