Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Sabres Pull Off Huge Trade

I've been saying for about the past 8 years or so that if the Buffalo Sabres needed a key goal late in a game to tie it or win it who could they depend on?  NOBODY.  Over the years they've had guys like Pat Lafontaine, Alex Mogilny, Daniel Briere and Chris Drury who would score big time goals.  But for nearly a decade they haven't anybody they could turn to, until now.

Sabres Play Tough, But Still Lose

It certainly wasn't for a lack of shots.  After equaling a franchise record for fewest shots on goal in their game against the Islanders two nights before, the Buffalo Sabres took that many in the first five minutes of the second period Tuesday night against Ottawa.  The Sabres ended up with 21 shots in that period alone, finished with 36 for the game, but still ended up losing 2-1.

Offensively Challenged Buffalo Sabres Fall To The New York Islanders

The Buffalo Sabres tied a franchise low for shots on goal managing only 10 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders.  It wasn't until the Islanders had built a 3-0 lead halfway thru the second period and coach Ted Nolan called a time out that the Sabres finally woke up from their sleepwalk.

Back In The Loss Column For The Buffalo Sabres

Back to familiar territory for the Buffalo Sabres with a 3-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night, the first of a five-game home stand.  But give the Sabres credit for hanging tough against one of the best teams in the league, they kept the shots against to a reasonable level, they played physical, they generated some offensive chances, but just couldn't find the net.

Sign Me Up Now For The Sequel To “To Kill A Mockingbird”

Wow!  I'm absolutely fascinated and excited to learn there's a sequel to the Harper Lee novel "To Kill A Mockingbird".  It's my favorite book and movie.  The 1962 movie starring Gregory Peck in the role of Atticus Finch won three Academy Awards including a Best Actor Oscar for Peck.  It was long thought that the Pulitzer Prize winning novel was the only one Lee ever wrote until just recently when it was revealed there is a follow up.
