Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the Breakfast Club morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Bills Lose To Kansas City On Turnovers [AUDIO]

All you can do is shake your head when you look at the final stats following the Buffalo Bills 23-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. On paper, the Bills dominated the Chiefs, but the game is played on the field, and this one was won on turnovers. The Chiefs scored 17 points off of three Bills turnovers, and that alone was enough.

He Wore Hockey’s First Goaltender Mask

Hard to believe, but there was a time when NHL goaltenders didn’t wear masks or helmets. Incredible when you think of the speed of the game and how badly you can get hurt if you get hit by a puck. But that’s the way it was until Montreal Canadien goaltender Jacques Plante became the first to wear a full facemask.

Buffalo Sabres Shut Out In New York

Offensively challenged would be a good way to describe this year's edition of the Buffalo Sabres. They pass when they should shoot and shoot when they should pass. And the Sabres made it an easy night for New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundquist, who stopped all 29 Buffalo shots to pick up a 2-0 shutout victory.

Those Amazing Cranes Building A New Buffalo

I was walking into the Sabres game last night, and you can’t help but notice those two large cranes at the site of the new Harbor Center building going up next to the arena. Every morning, those two crane operators climb all the way to the top of the crane, and because it’s such a long climb straight up, they usually stay there for the whole day.

It Gets Cold Here, But Nothing Like These Places!

With the wind and the rain and the cold temperatures, it was pretty nasty over the weekend. Some areas saw some snow. It’s a reminder that winter is close.

We’re known nationally for some pretty nasty winters, but our weather doesn't come close to what people in some other parts of the world experience.
