Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the Breakfast Club morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Buffalo Sabres Lay Down And Play Dead Again

Oh, the days when watching Buffalo Sabres games was actually fun.  Those days are long gone and give credit to any fan who can actually stomach sitting thru an entire game from beginning to end.  The Sabres had another horrendous first period, giving up three goals including one shorthanded enroute to a 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.

Doug Marrone Resigns As Buffalo Bills Coach

I hate quitters.  When the going got tough, Doug Marrone quit as head coach of the Buffalo Bills.  For a guy who criticized players for not putting the team first, here's a guy who put himself first and walked away from a job he started and left undone.  He walked away from his players, his staff of assistants, the organization, the fans and the city.

Dale Mussen’s Favorite Songs of 2014

How do you whittle down a whole year's worth of music into your Top 5 songs?  That's always a tough thing to do.  Keep in mind this could easily be expanded into a Top 15 or even a Top 20.  So let's just say these songs would be among my favorite songs of 2014

Overtime Loss For Short-handed Sabres

After getting blown out at home on Saturday night the Sabres completed a tough weekend with an overtime loss at Boston.  The Sabres took the lead 3-2 in the third period on Tim Schaller's first career goal only to see the Bruins come back to tie with less than two minutes to play

Ugly Loss Knocks The Buffalo Bills Out Of The Playoff Hunt

It's hard to explain how a team can beat one of the best teams in the league one week and then lose to one of the worst in the league a week later - a game they absolutely had to win.  That's exactly the story of the Buffalo Bills after a 26-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders after knocking off the Green Bay Packers the week before.

High-Flying Buffalo Sabres Shot Down By Winnipeg Jets

The Buffalo Sabres just didn't have it Tuesday night in Winnipeg.  Coming off a game in Buffalo the night before and having to fly to Winnipeg to meet a rested Jets team, the Sabres couldn't keep pace. The Jets scored 3 times in the second period and added two more in the third to beat the Sabres 5-1 to end Buffalo's four-game winning streak.
