Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the Breakfast Club morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Baby Eagles Set To Hatch [VIDEO]

Just a few weeks ago, the Pennsylvania State Game Commission posted some amazing video and photos of a nesting bald eagle who refuses to leave the nest even during a snowstorm that buried it up to its neck in snow in Hanover, Pennsylvania.  And thru the whole ordeal it doesn't look very happy. Later you'll see another eagle come by to help out.

Buffalo Sabres Fall Again In A Shoot Out

When you compare the lineup the Buffalo Sabres fielded Monday night against the Washington Capitals with the lineup the Sabres started the season with, only eight players remain.  As bad as the Sabres were at the beginning of October, injuries and trades have absolutely decimated the team.  Despite all of that the Sabres put in another good effort against a much more talented team and came away with a point in an overtime shoot out loss.

Another Good Effort, But Another Buffalo Sabres Loss

It's a very tough thing for any sports fan to hope their team loses so that they get a better draft position.  But in this, the year of the tank, that's what it's come to for many fans of the Buffalo Sabres.  You can only hope the pain and agony of watching the guys in blue and gold lose game after game will all be worth it in the end.

The Pi Day Of The Century

No, it's not the pie you might have been thinking about.  Saturday, 3/14 is pi day - as in the irrational number used to determine the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi is a number that is infinite.  It's been calculated to over two quadrillion decimal places with no pattern to the digits.

Alex Trebek Will Remain the Host of Jeopardy for a While

It's a show that Clay, Liz and I watch on a regular basis and the man who has hosted the show for decades will be staying around for a while.  Alex Trebek has signed a contract extension that will keep him on "Jeopardy" thru the middle of 2018.

So for now that ends the speculation on Trebek's possible retirement and who his replacement will be.  "Today Show" host Matt Lauer, CNN's Anderson Cooper, sportscasters Dan Patrick and Josh Elliott, even NBC's Brian Williams have been mentioned as possible replacements over the past few years.

U-B Students Interact With Talking Vending Machine

Ever have a vending machine talk back to you?  Me neither, but students at the University of Buffalo did recently.  Students who tried to buy a snack were asked to do exercises to work off the calories.  Or they were asked whether they knew the ingredients and nutritional value of the choices they were making.
