Back to familiar territory for the Buffalo Sabres with a 3-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night, the first of a five-game home stand.  But give the Sabres credit for hanging tough against one of the best teams in the league, they kept the shots against to a reasonable level, they played physical, they generated some offensive chances, but just couldn't find the net.

Chris Stewart had a number of great chances to score.  Bryan Flynn missed on a shorthanded breakaway.  Cody Hodgson fanned on a great opportunity in front.

The loss is the Sabres sixth straight at home.  It's also the sixth time they've been shut out at home this season and eighth time overall.

The Sabres host Lindy Ruff and the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.
