Bass Pro Shops Set To Acquire Cabela’s For $5.5B

For years, we waited for a deal to happen with Bass Pro Shops on Buffalo's waterfront.  That fell through.  We did however, find a way to bring Cabela's to Western New York when they opened up a new store by the Walden Galleria.  Today, the two companies announced that Bass Pro Shops would be acquiring Cabela's for a deal valued at $5.5 billion.

According to WKBW, there is no word on whether or not there would be any store closures due to the acquisition.  However, they did say that Bass Pro would "celebrate and grow" the Cabela's brand.
