Before Luke Bryan (whose real name is Thomas Bryan) started to become the hottest country act on the planet, his career was red hot at his local Wegmans. Well…Rubo’s in Leesburg, Ga.

I worked during the summers on Monday and Tuesday. I stocked and cleaned up the produce.  They paid me under the table...I peeled off all of the brown lettuce.

He had planned to move to Nashville for the music industry, but his older brother (Chris Bryan) died in a car accident the night before he was supposed to move. Luke decided to attend a college closer to home, Georgia Southern University, because he felt as though his family was more important than going to Music City and stayed home to help work on the family’s peanut farm.

By 2001, his father convinced him to move to Nashville and pursue his dream, and while he was at college, he decided to become a country singer. Not a bad idea, huh?

Now, the man's hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards and the reigning Entertainer of the Year. Thanks Mr. Bryan for convincing your son!
