Fans have waited many months filled with anticipation, and today, Buffalo Bills football is back!

I am writing this as the Bills are beating the Colts late in the fourth quarter of their first preseason game.

I remember blogging after the Bills final game last year about change at One Bills Drive, and change is what we got. Fast forward to today -- the team has a new coaching staff, a new possible franchise quarterback and a bunch of rookies, that through the first preseason game, look impressive.

EJ Manuel showed that he is capable to do some really great things. He played the entire first half and had pretty good stats -- 16-21 for 107 yards and one touchdown, plus three rushes for 28 yards.

Marquese Goodwin, another rookie who is fast, had a 53 yard kickoff return and one touchdown after a second kickoff return that he ran back 107 yards. Another quarterback on the Bills roster, Jeff Tuel, also looks really good. His stats were 19-23 for 212 yards and two touchdowns. CJ Spiller started where he left off last season with some explosive, exciting rushes -- four carries for 36 yards. Kevin Kolb did not play in the game today.

Along with the good things that we've seen in the game, we did see a few things that the Bills will need to work out -- a couple of bad penalties and a couple of fumbles. Coach Doug Marrone and the rest of the coaching staff will no doubt address those issues that can be costly.

I know it's only preseason and it's only one game, but judging by this game, there are some things to be excited about. We've been let down for years, but there seems to be a new energy about the Bills. Should be interesting to see.
