In a surprise move, the Buffalo Bills have released the most-senior member of the team, punter Brian Moorman.  Thru three games, his net punting average was 32.7 yards, second-last in the league.  He also had a line-drive punt against the Jets in the season opener that led to a touchdown.

Moorman won the right to continue his punting duties with the Bills for a 12th season after a training camp competition with former Florida State punter Shawn Powell.  Powell now returns to the Bills to handle the punting duties.   Powell is Florida State's all-time punting leader with an average of 44.7 yards a kick.

General manager Buddy Nix says the move was done in the best interests of the team.
