Buffalo Bills v Carolina Panthers
Oh, so close. A potential game-winning fourth down pass to Zay Jones falls incomplete (Getty Images)

The Bills held Carolina to only 255 yards in total offense and in most cases that might be good enough to win a football game, but the Bills were only able to generate 176 yards of their own and that's hardly enough.  LeSean McCoy who ran for 110 yards the week before against the Jets managed only 9 yards on 12 carries against Carolina.

Despite their poor offensive showing the Bills still had a chance to win it.  With just over 2:00 left to play the Bills took over on their own 25 and drove to the Carolina 33 where on fourth down a long pass for Zay Jones near the goal line fell incomplete and that's how it ended.

Tyrod Taylor was 11 of 25 passing for 125 yards and scrambled eight times for 55 yards.  McCoy caught six balls for 34 yards.

But again, give the Bills defense credit for making a game of it.  They sacked Panthers quarterback Cam Newton six times for 50 yards - Jerry Hughes had two of them.  And they had three red zone stops forcing Carolina to settle for field goals.  Jordan Poyer who had such a great game against the Jets had another big game against Carolina with 11 tackles and a sack.

The Bills are back home next Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
