Blake Shelton took the stage at the 2017 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night (Jan. 18) to perform his new single on what was already a very big night for the country star and TV host.

After an introduction from actress and singer Victoria Justice, Shelton launched into a performance of "Every Time I Hear That Song." Surrounded by a rotating nature scene, Shelton delivered a strong vocal performance as he played guitar and sang the tune while visual effects of falling rain and moody nature scenes took over the background, adding a level of emotion to the performance.

"Every Time I Hear That Song" is the latest track off Shelton's album, If I'm Honest, which hit the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart after its release in 2016. It includes the No. 1 singles "Came Here to Forget" and "A Guy With a Girl" and features a collaboration with his girlfriend Gwen Stefani on "Go Ahead and Break My Heart." It's his first album release following his divorce from Miranda Lambert.

Shelton led the country nominations at the annual awards ceremony. He was again up for Favorite Male Country Artist, an award he won in 2016, and he also scored a nomination for Favorite Male Artist along with Drake, Justin Timberlake, the Weeknd and Shawn Mendes, and Favorite Album alongside albums by Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Beyonce and Drake. His reality singing competition, The Voice, was also nominated in the category of Favorite Competition TV show.

Shelton took home the awards for Favorite Male Country Artist and the all-genre Favorite Album.

Shelton is taking a break from both his touring and television gigs for now, but he'll begin the Doing It to Country Songs Tour with RaeLynn and Sundance Head on Feb. 16. Head — the Season 11 winner of The Voice — was recently announced as one of Shelton's opening acts.
