Boat Named Titanic II Sinks On Its First Trip Out

If you were going to name a boat, pick a name that you WOULDN"T go with.  If you just said Titanic, you are right. 

It's no secret that the name Titanic has a bad reputation in the shipping world, but  boat owner Mark Wilkinson decided to test fate and name his own ship after the massive vessel anyway. Unfortunately for Wilkinson, fate won and Titanic II sunk on its maiden voyage.

The Birmingham, UK resident was left clinging to the side of the boat as it sunk under the water until the harbor master rescued him. The 40-year-old has since had to endure a non-ending stream of Titanic jokes.

Titanic II sunk due to a 6-inch hole -- not caused by an iceberg -- in the hull.

Sad news all around, though we're guessing it probably wasn't as sad as that other thing named 'Titanic II.'
