The Buffalo Sabres did the expected by losing in Minnesota 6-3 and it was about the same time the Sabres game ended that things started to unravel for the Buffalo Bills in Miami.  Some officiating calls didn't help matters, but the Dolphins were recipients of some good fortune in rolling to a 22-9 win over the Bills.

The Dolphins scored 16 points in six minutes to go from down 9-3 to a 10-point lead.  A questionable intentional grounding call resulted in a safety against the Bills and a few minutes later an absolutely awful defensive pass interference call against the Bills led to the clinching Dolphins touchdown.  From there the Bills really came apart - taking dumb penalties and missing coverages on defense while the offense stalled with Orton missing receivers and hurried into dump passes.

It all came down to the Bills inability to put the ball in the end zone that cost them.  Three drives ending in Dan Carpenter field goals while another Carpenter attempt was wide.

With the Bills loss it drops them to 5-5, but all five losses coming in the conference and effectively ends any chance of a playoff spot.  So that will extend the Bills playoff drought to 15 straight years.

Six games left including a brutal December schedule including Denver, Green Bay and New England.
