Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are returning to co-host the 2017 CMA Awards in November, and from the looks of some backstage footage Paisley shared online, their easy comedy chemistry hasn't lost a step.

Paisley and Underwood got together to film a promo clip for the show, and Paisley couldn't resist making fun of his co-host's well-known love for horror, sharing a post to Instagram referencing the new Stephen King movie, It.

"Oh the horror. It's hideous. @carrieunderwood #it," he writes, and in the accompanying video, he warns that if you thought the movie was scary, "Watch this."

He then turns the camera on Underwood, who lets out a comically light, ladylike and restrained version of a typical bloodcurdling scream from any horror movie.

Paisley also teased Underwood in another post in which he trained his camera on her choice of shoes, which on this occasion happened to multi-colored house shoes -- a somewhat odd match to the dress she was wearing for the shoot that day. Underwood's hands are closer to the camera than the rest of her in the shot, and Paisley also targets their distorted appearance, writing, "CMA promo shoot with @carrieunderwood today. I like her new direction in footwear. Also, her hands are huge in real life. We photoshop them smaller."

Country music fans can be sure there'll be plenty more zingers and quips when Paisley and Underwood take the stage for the live broadcast of country music's biggest night, which is set to air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Nov. 8.
