Brad Paisley Offers Incentive For ACM Entertainer of the Year Vote

The 46^th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards is this Sunday night on CBS  and the big award is a fan voted category, “Entertainer of the year”.  Here’s something I’ve never seen before,  Brad Paisley  is offering an incentive to get his fans to vote for him.  Those who vote for Brad online can get a free download of one of his live songs and are also entered to win an iPod.  Really?  Remember all bad press surrounding the Oscars when supporting actress nominee Melissa Leo produced a “vote for me” video weeks before the awards?  There was a Hollywood up roar because of it.  She did end up winning the award (don’t think the video had anything to do with it).  Don’t get me wrong, Brad is worthy of the award I just think it’s a bad idea and in bad taste to offer incentives for votes of this nature.  My guess is some big wig (not Brad) came up with the idea and ran with it.   I hate to say it, but I kind of hope he doesn’t win because of this.  In the category with him are  Keith Urban, Jason Aldean  Jason Aldean,  Taylor Swift , Toby Keith and   Miranda Lambert .  To vote for your favorite go to voteacm.com .
