Tyrod Taylor directs the offense at Bills training camp [Dale Mussen photo][/caption]Fully a week into training camp and there's no clear winner in the quarterback derby.  There are four quarterbacks in camp, but really only three of them have the best chance at emerging as the starter on opening day against the Indianapolis Colts.

Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor in addition to Matt Simms are getting equal reps running plays, but not much has changed from a week ago.  Each of them are taking turns throwing nice passes and leading the offense.  None of them have moved ahead of the others though.  None of them have regressed either.

That's the view from the sideline.  How about from the middle of the field with coach Rex Ryan?  It doesn't look any different from his point of view either although he's not counting out Matt Simms.

If it was up to me right now and I had to name a starter for a game starting tonight - I'd go with Tyrod Taylor because he brings a dimension to the Bills that some of the more successful teams are going with these days - an elusive, running quarterback.  Taylor is a guy that will make plays for you both with his arm and his feet.  He's been a back-up his entire career.  He might make a few mistakes but with a solid defense the Bills can overcome those mistakes.  On the other hand Taylor is just the guy who could make enough big plays to win a few ball games too.

Following Friday's workout coach Ryan spoke about the quarterback situation and running back LeSean McCoy appeared to give the quarterback nod to Taylor.
