The Buffalo Bills made defensive tackle Marcell Dareus out of Alabama their top choice in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday night.  He's 6-3, 319 pounds.  Some experts call him the best of the defensive prospects.  Observers say he'll quickly make the Bills defense a lot better.  He fires off the ball and collapses the interior of the offensive line quickly.  He said on ESPN if it's cold in Buffalo, he'll "bring some warmth. "

General manager Buddy Nix and coach Chan Gailey gave their thoughts on Dareus

The Bills pick was the highest in the NFL draft since they selected defensive end Bruce Smith first overall in the 1985 draft.  The Bills had the number four pick in 2002 when they selected offensive tackle Mike Williams who turned out to be a bust.

As expected, quarterback Cam Newton out of Auburn University was selected the Number 1 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers.

The Denver Broncos selected Texas A & M linebacker Von Miller with the second pick allowing the Bills to take Dareus.
