The Buffalo Bills are off to a 2-0 start after a satisfying 29-10 win over the Miami Dolphins on an emotional day at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Jim Kelly wiped tears from his eyes over the ovation he received as he began to speak during the tribute to Ralph Wilson. It was the first game in a newly renovated stadium and it came less than a week after Terry Pegula’s bid was accepted as new owner of the team.

The Bills were energized by a sold-out crowd but could only manage three field goals in the first half until C J Spiller showed why he’s a good choice to return kickoffs. He returned a Dolphins kickoff 102 yards for the Bills first touchdown of the day to give to give the Bills a 16-3 lead and even though there was still a lot of time left, most Bills fans were pretty confident this one was pretty much over.  C J says the coaches asked him during the summer about returning kicks.

What a day for the Clemson Connection. In addition to his touchdown return Spiller ran for 69 yards on 12 carries and Bills rookie Sammy Watkins caught 11 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown giving a glimpse of what’s yet to come.

E J Manuel completed 16 of 26 for 202 yards and the score to Watkins.  Manuel said the fans were a huge factor in the game -

And the Bills defense held the Dolphins to 290 total yards while sacking quarterback Ryan Tannehill four times.

Most of the players said the crowd was a huge factor for them, and against the Dolphins. Kyle Williams says he’s been here long enough and been to enough other stadiums to know Bills fans can be the loudest in the league and they certainly were this week -

Next up for the Bills is another home game with the San Diego Chargers coming to town.
