The Bills are set to report to St. John Fisher College in Rochester today as training camp starts tomorrow.  And the Bills got their first round QB signed to his rookie contract today.

According to NFL.com, the contract is a 4 year deal with a 5th year team option.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The seventh overall draft pick is rated as a 5.9 on their scale of players who might prove to be first year starters.  Comparatively, the other player that the Bills got in the first round, Virginia Tech linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has a 7.17 rating.

I actually buy into the thought that a rookie quarterback should sit his first year if a team has that kind of ability.  It's good for them to be able to go to practice, learn the offense, and really adjust to the speed of the game at the pro level before being thrown to the wolves.

We will see what happens at the quarterback position as a starter emerges over the next month at training camp.

Remember to be listening to WYRK Monday through Friday during training camp for updates and reports from Rochester by Dale Mussen.
