Defensive End Shaq Lawson out of Clemson is the Buffalo Bills top draft pick this year.  With the loss of Mario Williams and with only 21 team sacks for the entire year, defensive end was a need position for the Bills and Lawson was a player the Bills had targeted all along.  He's one of the top edge rushers in the draft and was the AP SEC Defensive Player of the Year. There were rumors Tampa Bay would pick him with the ninth pick and Chicago would take him 11th.  Another report had the Dallas Cowboys looking to trade their way back into the first round to take him, but he fell to the Bills with the 19th pick and they're both happy and lucky to get him.

Quarterbacks were the first two picks of the draft.  Jared Goff out of California was the Number One overall pick going to the L-A Rams.  Carson Wentz of North Dakota State was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Rams and Eagles paid dearly to move up for the opportunity to draft quarterbacks.  The Rams made a deal with the Tennessee Titans for the Number One overall pick and Philadelphia traded with the Cleveland Browns for the right to the Number Two overall pick.

Ohio State placed four players in the Top 16.  Defensive end Joey Bosa went 3rd to the San Diego Chargers, running back Ezekiel Elliott went 4th to the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Eli Apple went 10th to the New York Giants and offensive tackle Taylor Decker was the 16th pick by the Detroit Lions.

Rounds 2 and 3 of the draft are on Friday night.  The remaining rounds will be completed on Saturday.  The Bills have one pick in each of the 2nd and 3rd rounds, two in the 4th, one in the 5th and two in the 6th.
