Four days after some Buffalo Sabres fans cheered when the Arizona Coyotes beat the Sabres in Buffalo, the Sabres returned the favor with a 4-1 win in Phoenix.  Defenseman Andrej Meszaros has scored seven goals this season and four of them have come in the last two games.  Meszaros scored twice Monday night including the winning goal to lead the way.

Team captain Brian Gionta and defenseman Rasmus Ristolainin each scored into an empty net in the final minutes to clinch the win.

Sabres goaltender Anders Lindback allowed an early goal but shut the door the rest of the way.  Lindback stopped the next 28 Coyotes shots to pick up the win.

The win closes the gap between the Sabres and Coyotes to four points.  The Sabres have six games left to play.  The Coyotes have five.

The Sabres host the Toronto Maple Leafs Wednesday night.  Will we hear chants of "Go, Leafs, Go" from some Sabres fans?
