It was a rare road win for the Buffalo Sabres. Cody Hodgson returned to the lineup after missing the last eight games with a hand injury and scored the deciding goal in a shootout to give the Sabres a 2-1 win against the Washington Capitals.

It's the Sabres' first win away from First Niagara Center since November 5.

Tyler Ennis scored on a first period power play to tie the game at 1-1, and the score remained tied through overtime to set up the shootout. Named to the Team USA Olympic team last Wednesday, Ryan Miller put on another clinic, stopping 28 shots plus all three Washington attempts in the shootout.

The Sabres are back home Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
