The Buffalo Sabres proved once again they truly are the worst team in the NHL.  The Sabres stretched their losing streak to 13 straight games with a 3-2 loss in Edmonton giving the Oilers a sweep of their two-game season series against the Sabres.

It's also the third straight game that the Sabres opened the scoring, but ended up losing anyway.  Tyler Myers scored his second goal of the season to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead early in the first period and that's the last time the Sabres would lead.  Edmonton scored twice to take a 2-1 lead into the first break, added another goal in the third.  Rasmus Ristolainen scored late in the third to make it close, but the Sabres made it a baker's dozen....13 straight losses and counting.

The game was previewed as a meeting between the NHL's two worst teams, both in contention for the best chance at the top pick in the amateur draft.  So with Connor McDavid at stake, a player called a once in a generation player, I guess in the case of the Sabres losing is winning.  So if you're gonna be bad, be the best at it and the Sabres certainly are.

Next up....former Sabre goaltender Ryan Miller and the Vancouver Canucks on Friday night.
