Game after game the Buffalo Sabres keep proving they have a long way to go to compete with the big boys.  Despite an upgrade in talent the results are pretty much the same as the past two seasons and it's pretty discouraging for Sabres fans expecting a whole lot more to get a whole lot less.

The Sabres were no match for the division-leading Florida Panthers on Tuesday night at First Niagara Center falling 5-1.  Linus Ullmark had a tough night in net, but he didn't get a whole lot of support either.  Ryan O'Reilly's second period power play goal was all the Sabres were able to muster.  Although the Sabres finished outshooting the Panthers 32 to 27, most of the Buffalo shots were easily seen and stopped by Florida goaltender Roberto Luongo.

First Niagara Center has become somewhat of a home away from home for the Panthers where they've come away winners in their last nine visits.  Meanwhile, the loss was Buffalo's fifth in a row and it doesn't get any easier.  The Sabres start a three-game road trip with their first stop in Chicago against the Stanley Cup champion Black Hawks.
