The Buffalo Sabres finally posted one in the winning column Monday afternoon at First Niagara Center on the strength of three power play goals in a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.  All of the goals in the goals in the game except for one came on the power play.

The one goal that came at even strength turned out to be the game winner and it was one for the highlight reel.  And it was all Jack Eichel.  He stole the puck in the Columbus zone, chased it back to the blue line then eluded a couple of defenders before finding the net with a great wrist shot.  And to think he's just an 18-year old rookie.  It's a preview of what's to come for this kid and this team.

Rasmus Ristolainen got the scoring started early in the second period on the power play for his first goal of the year.  Ryan O'Reilly made it 2-0 with another Buffalo power play goal and late in the third period with Columbus trailing by just 3-2, Matt Moulson closed out the scoring with yet another goal while skating a man up for a 4-2 final.   Moulson finished with three points on the night with a goal and two assists.

Chad Johnson got the start in goal and stopped 22 of 24 shots.

So after three straight home games the Sabres are on the road for the next two games, Thursday night against the Florida Panthers and on Saturday at Tampa Bay.
