Give credit to those dedicated Buffalo Sabres fans who continue to buy tickets and attend games because the Sabres occasionally do reward that dedication by actually winning a game or two.  Thursday night against the Calgary Flames they even provided a bonus by scoring more goals than had in the previous five games combined.

Marcus Foligno scored a shorthanded goal and added two assists while Jack Eichel came thru with his first goal in eight games - a power play goal that gave the Sabres a two-goal lead and the Sabres went on to a 6-3 win over the Flames.

Rasmus Ristoleinen, Nicolas Deslauriers, Johan Larsson and Evander Kane into an empty net scored the other Buffalo goals.  Robin Lehner stopped 26 of 29 shots and finally got some offensive support for his first win in six starts.

If ever the Sabres were destined to win a home game it was probably going to be against the Flames.  Calgary's last regulation win in Buffalo was over 20 years ago.  Since then the Sabres are 10-0-2 at home against the Flames.

The Sabres remain home to host Minnesota Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
