Anders Lindback makes one of his 49 saves against the Carolina Hurricanes [buffalosabres.com][/caption]Clinching last place will have to wait.  The Buffalo Sabres could have ended all that "tank" talk with a regulation loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night at First Niagara Center.  Instead, they built a 4-0 lead and held on for a 4-3 win.

Mikael Grigorenko, Brian Gionta, Johan Larsson and Tyler Ennis gave the Sabres what appeared to be a comfortable lead late in the second period.  The Hurricanes fought back though making it 4-1 entering the third period, then closed to within a goal with five minutes to play.

A big game from Sabres goaltender Anders Lindback.  He stopped 49 of 52 shots to pick up his sixth victory of the season.

The Sabres have just two games left; Friday night in Columbus and back home Saturday night against Pittsburgh.  Any combination of a Buffalo loss or an Arizona victory will ensure that the Sabres finish in last place for the second year in a row.  Arizona has three more games to play.
