Another game ending in a shut out at First Niagara Center, but this time the Buffalo Sabres came out the winner.  After falling to New Jersey 2-0 on Tuesday night, the Sabres put together a shut out of their own on Thursday night, this time against Anaheim 3-0.

Chad Johnson stopped a career high 44 shots to pick up his first shut out as a Sabre and the fourth of his career.  It's the seventh time in 31 all-time meetings that the Sabres have shut out the Ducks.

Evander Kane, Jake McCabe and Jamie McGinn scored the Buffalo goals.  Cal O'Reilly, the older brother of Ryan O'Reilly set up the McCabe goal to earn his first point as a Sabre and his first point in the NHL in four years.  He'd been playing in the minors and in Russia since playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins four years ago.

The Sabres have won three of their last four games entering Saturday afternoon's game against the Chicago Black Hawks.  It'll be the Sabres last game before the holiday break.
