What a comeback.  For a long stretch in the third period the Nashville Predators looked like they were going to cruise to a regulation victory over the Buffalo Sabres, but the Sabres didn't quit.  Brian Gionta and Kyle Okposo scored goals for Buffalo in the final five minutes to tie the game forcing overtime.  Then Jack Eichel scored the game winner, his second goal of the game, for an incredible and unexpected 5-4 victory in Nashville.

The Sabres were down 4-2 late in the third period and up to that point they didn't have much go their way in this game.  They gave up a short-handed goal and had an apparent goal waved off when Marcus Foligno was ruled to have kicked the puck in the net.  No call was made when Zemgus Girgensons appeared to have been pulled down while trying to get a shot off and it directly led to a Nashville goal at the other end just a few moments later.

Girgensons did score earlier in the game while Robin Lehner stopped 35 shots and drew an assist on the game winning goal.  It's the Sabres third straight overtime victory, the first time since 2006 they've been able to do that.

The Sabres play one more game before this weekend's All-Star break.  The Sabres play in Dallas on Thursday night.
