14 straight losses and counting.  What team in the NHL wants to be the one to allow the Buffalo Sabres to break the longest losing streak in the league in 11 years?  For the fifth straight game the Sabres scored the first goal of the game only to lose again.

Friday night in Vancouver Chris Stewart scored early in the first period and later added another both on the power play, but the Sabres fell 5-2.  Dumb penalties, bad line changes, missed assignments again all took their toll.

Matt Hackett made his first start in goal for the Sabres this season and made 33 saves.  Former Sabre Ryan Miller at the other end stopped 20 Buffalo shots.  With his win over the Sabres, Miller has now beaten every team in the NHL.

It was clean sweep in the month of January for the Sabres - they didn't win a single game the entire month.  They conclude their road trip on Tuesday night in Montreal.
