The future may bring a quick commute to other cities from Buffalo. How quick? As fast as the speed of sound!

The speed of sound is 761.2 mph (1,225 km/h). That means you could make it to your next destination around the Great Lakes in hardly any time at all.

According to Metro Source news:

It was announced this week that a company's working with states on the lakes and Canada to build a space age type steel tube capable of transporting passengers at nearly the speed of sound. The project expects to start with stops in Ohio and Chicago but later incorporate Buffalo, Detroit, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Milwaukee. The hyperloop project could begin as soon as early next decade.

Fox News also reports that you could potentially take a train from Detroit to Chicago in less than 30 minutes.

There will have to be numerous studies and funds raised to allow Buffalo to be in consideration to be a stop on the Hyperloop. If things move like they normally do in this area, we may be looking at another bass pro situation. But for now, it's nice to consider what could be!
