It's believed to be Buffalo's oldest tree.  You wouId think it was in some city park – Delaware Park, Cazenovia Park, Humboldt Park, Riverside Park?  Maybe a cemetery? Forest Lawn?  But it's in none of those.

Buffalo's oldest tree is in Allentown on Franklin Street just north of Edward Street.  There it is right between the street and the sidewalk.  There's even a plaque on it proclaiming it to be what's believed to be the city's oldest tree.

The plaque says it's over 250 years old, but the plaque was placed on the tree in 1960.  So considering that the tree was planted in 1690 that tree is more than 320 years old.  It's dormant during the winter, but during the summer it's as vibrant as can be.

Check it out sometime.  It's a pretty impressive tree and just may outlive you.
