Call Them The Lancaster Legends

And the winner is.....Legends.  That's the new nickname of the Lancaster School District as selected by a vote of the student body.  More than 3,000 students from elementary thru high school participated in the vote on Tuesday and Wednesday from among seven finalists and overwhelmingly they chose Legends.

The original design was created by eighth grader Korissa Gozdziak featuring a knight in armor holding a sword while keeping the school district's traditional red and black colors.

The district's website says "As a district, we are legendary.  We have amazing teachers and opportunities that shape us to become our own legends."  The mascot and logo will become official with a vote by the Lancaster Board of Education on Monday, June 8th.
