We’re Home To The Oldest State Park In America

Earlier this week we learned that Buffalo will get its first state park when beginning this fall construction will begin on picnic shelters, playgrounds, a redesigned breakwall and walking areas, fishing access and seating. It will become the state’s 180th state park about a half hour’s drive from the state’s first state park – Niagara Falls State Park. It’s not only the first state park, but it’s the oldest state park in America.

What A View From On Top

The tallest building and tallest man-made structure in the world is the Burj Kalifa tower in Dubai. It’s 26-hundred-84 feet tall with 162 floors. It took the title on January 4, 2010. For a man-made structure to be considered a building, at least 50 percent of its height must be able to accommodate space for living space or offices.

40 Hour Week For A Living

It was pretty much standard in almost every American industry back in the early 1900’s – you’d work six days a week and often it was 10 hours a day. But it was the Ford Motor Company that changed all of that on this date in 1926. Ford became the first American company to adopt a five-day, 40-hour week for factory workers. Three months later the policy applied to office workers too.
