March 18, 2013 I had a great St. Patrick's day weekend! I got to drink a couple beers with my neighbors, watch an MMA fight with my friends, cooked up some corned beef and cabbage -- heck, I even drank some Irish Car Bombs with my mom. But I feel like I need to do it all again because I never got this....the Shamrock Pour.
March 18, 2013 Who would have thought we were at a point where we'd need a Bill of Rights for cruise ship passengers? I guess with all that has happened with cruise ships -- from the partial sinking of the Costa Concordia in January 2012 (32 lives lost), to the Carnival Cruise stuck in the Gulf of Mexico, to the most recent cruise ship mishap, the Carnival Legend losing engine strength while at sea -- we must need this Bill...right?

March 14, 2013 Do you have an overweight pet? I do! My 7-year-old pug Bear (a.k.a. Fatts), unfortunately, is so overweight that he developed diabetes and gets two shots a day for the rest of his short doggy life. Sad, isn't it?
March 13, 2013 I just read a new article about lack of sleep and how it may be connected to Alzheimer’s Disease later in life. Sleep is really important and I surely don’t get enough of it. Do you? Do you get the recommended 6-8 hours regularly? Probably not! You should though, …and here’s why.

March 12, 2013 When you think of retiring, you probably think of a nice warm place where you don't have to battle snow, sleet and ice for 6+ months. Maybe one of the Carolinas, Florida, Arizona or something like that. For me, that decision would be a tough one because my heart will always be in Buffalo. How about you? Have you given retirement any thought? I know many of you (including me) are a ways away from that, but it's a thought that quickly passes through my mind here and there.

I remember back in the day, my father would break out the pencils, calculator and boxes of receipts and settle in for what seemed like an exhausting weekend of figuring out the family's taxes. We were told not to bother dad because it was "important stuff." After I got a job and starting paying, I understood why.

March 11, 2013 I just filled up the tank this morning and paid $3.95 per gallon, but they say that gas prices are dropping. Sure the prices will drop, then they creep up on ya, drop again, then....go way the heck up again.
